I also had a Hold-It carrier made by a gal in Maine for by Bug... and while reorganizing I figured hummm  will it fit?  Yep my Zing can now go to crops with me easier.

Mar. 5 - 12 challenge featuring ScrappyDew

Thanks to http://www.scrappydew.com/  for creating this challange.
I created some St.Patty's Day decorations from the cut file for MTC they gave us.
Feel free to join the forum at http://forum.make-the-cut.com/

I love challenges because they make me think...but I was drawing a blank on this challange. Well until today when I got an email inviting us to green beer & supper next saturday inspiration struck. I wanted to make a PnC but I wanted a black outline on all the pieces. I'm happy with the results, but I learned more about shadow layers and paper pieces in the process. Thank Rob and Chrystal! The mug was from google images - green beer search.
I like my pieces to have a black edge, I think it goes back to the days when I tole painted and outlined and sticked painted on designs like these. I just prefer outlined images.

Fun little vinyl contest for Easter

this was my  card for the vinyl challange on the MTC forum by Papilio

What was used….
{ Black Vinyl
{ Clear Vinyl
{ Printable Vinyl
{ Cardstock
{ Alcohol Inks
{ Stickles or Glitter Glue
{ Make The Cut software
{ Iron and no stick sheet
{ Zing Cutter
{ Sponge and Distress Ink
{ 09KUTUPS font
{ Fayette Designs Hey Chickie designs

Using Make The Cut –  Cut a frame using 09KUTUPS font out of the clear vinyl,  then use alcohol inkes to color it and let it dry. Apply the adhesive back inked vinyl to your card.

Pixel trace the design you want to use, then follow your cutters instructions to do a PNC (Print and Cut).  I thought I had printable vinyl… but found after I did the pnc that I had used printable heat transfer by mistake…J    so I placed the images on the card and used my emblishemnt iron to heat set it to the card.

I then added stickles glitter glue to highlight and glitz up the card and added a sentiment inside.   Sponge in the outter edges.
Enjoy!

Have you updated MTC?

I wanted to share Julies yahoo group post on MTC with my friends who have not updated their MTC because they have been.... busy :)

You need to download the latest version of Make The Cut version 4.1.0 in order to open all the wonderful files that are shared that were made in this version. See the video tutorial made by Scrappy Dew that explains how to install the newest version without overwriting the older version of Make The Cut.

Once you have the latest version of the software, you can open all files created in it as well as files made in all earlier versions. To do this, Open a file, Select All (Ctrl+A), Export as SVG (Ctrl+Shift+S). Open your older version of Make The Cut, and Import the SVG (Ctrl+Shift+G) to cut.

However, you may be able to cut to your present cutter in the latest version of the software. To find out, look on your computer for the Make The Cut Plugins folder.

If you have XP the location would be here:  C:\Program Files\Make The Cut!\Plugins
If you have Windows 7 the location would be here: C:\Programs (x86)\Make The Cut!\Plugins

Once you have installed MTC 4.1.0, go to the Plugins folder of the older version, select all (Ctrl+A) and Copy (Ctrl+C) then go to the Plugins folder of the newer version and Paste (Ctrl+V) or use the Edit menu to copy and paste. If you are able to copy all the plugins from the older version to the newer version, Open MTC 4.1.0, select Cut Project With at the top of the screen, and check to see if your cutter is listed there. If so, select it and try a test cut.
If your older version of MTC does not have a plugins folder, then you may need to continue to use the older version of the software to cut to your cutter.
